NC Board of Ed member resigns, cites social experiments regular

A member of the Point out Board of Instruction has resigned, citing the state’s controversial new social studies benchmarks and what he calls a change absent from schooling in the direction of activism.
In February 2021, the Condition Board of Schooling adopted new K-12 social scientific studies requirements that supporters say are extra inclusive of distinct teams. But in his resignation letter dated Feb. 1, condition board member Todd Chasteen states the benchmarks are “regressive” and that he disagrees with the direction the board is now taking.
